１６日から２０日、お休みをいただいて東京へ。こんなに長く仕事から離れることはなかったが意識的に減らしてきたことが幸い？して仕事のことはあまり気にならなくてのんびりとさせていただいた。
この次期、天気、特に気温が気になっていたが、かなりの高温。２２度程度と暑いくらいでセーターは要らなかった。またお世話になったいとこの家がスウェーデンハウスというので高気密、高断熱、さらに家主が寒がりで暑がりらしく、朝晩は外気が１０度以下になっても室内は２２度、暑いくらいだ。２４時間暖房が入って非常に快適だが体のためにはこの時期はもう少し低いほうがいいのではとも思った。
出発：
１６日、呼子からバスで西唐津駅まで。天気は快晴。暖かい。この日の運転手は、中学の同級生だった。なんという奇遇？幸運？。まだまだ仕事は続けるそうだ。元気ならば当然続けるべき。

羽田到着：
降り立った東京は、暖かい。平日なのか飛行機も空いていたが空港も比較的人が少なく感じる。これからどこか見物でもと思ったが、めんどくさくなりまっすぐ入間の親戚の家へ向かうことにする。
久しぶりに歩く駅構内は、平日の昼間なのか比較的歩くスピードもゆっくりしている。数年前までに感じた「東京の人は歩くのが早い」というイメージは、少し崩れた。これも不景気の影響か高齢化の影響か。などと勝手に解釈をしながらスムースに池袋へ到着。
西部池袋線に乗り換える前に池袋の駅を出て周りを見る。これといって変わったイメージは湧かず都会とはこんなもんだと納得して、えきに戻り、切符を買う。どの車両に乗ったらいいかを駅員に尋ね言われたとおりに電車に乗る。その前にいとこに連絡して最寄の駅まで迎えをお願いする。
４０分ほどで到着。都心から１時間ほどなのでこのへんも通勤圏として開発が進んで住宅地として発展しているが、まだ田舎の雰囲気があちこちに残っている。農業としてはもう成り立たなくなった土地は、切り刻んで小さくして貸し農園として趣味と実益をかねた家庭菜園があちこちにある。
入間で：
駅を出るともう迎えが来ていた。懐かしい顔が出迎えたくれた。武蔵野音大のそばを通って団地へ入ると丘を住宅団地へ変えたのがはっきりと分かる少しきつい傾斜に住宅が立ち並んでいる。その中にスウェーデンハウスがあった。なかなかかっこいい家だ。
最近、息子さんを亡くされたおばさんと３週間ほど前に出発していた母としばらくここで過ごすことになる。おばさんはもう９５歳。だが元気だ。元気がなにより。父の葬儀いらいだからあれから６年も経った。母とのしばしの生活は慰めにまた元気付けの助けになったろうか。
最近読んだ本を思い出した。捨て猫を拾った家族と猫の話。猫は２０年の命を終わらせるのだが、やはりこの話はやめておこう。本を読んだほうがいい。「猫鳴り」。実は読書ジジーはまだ続いているのだ。
その夜は鍋で歓待してくれた。私の寝室として用意してくれたのは。家主の書斎だ。これがこじんまりしてちょうどいい広さというか狭さというか。ちょうどいい。

Recently, I will spend some time here with my aunt who lost her son and my mother who left about three weeks ago. Aunt is already 95 years old. But she’s fine. Above all, her energy.
